Elite Roleplaying Charter

The Elite Roleplaying Charter governs what ERP stands for, the way by which all divisions are run and the expectations of its members. A division can receive special dispensation from ERP Central Command (see Article 3) to run with a different procedures to the charter.

Article 1 - The Experience

Elite Roleplaying (ERP) was created to provide the best roleplaying experience possible. We simulate, as realistically as possible, the day-to-day operations in each universe. Most of what you see on television, in the movies or in computer games is the most exciting stuff that happens. For these events to happen to everyone all the time is just unrealistic, and necessitates a lot of rules to ensure that doesn't happen. You will come to know that not every scenario following this principle is a boring one. It just generally means not to do extraordinary things all the time. Naturally, it is acceptable for such things to happen once in a while, but not often. More than 99% of the universe consists of normal, average people. Heroes make up less than 1%.

Article 2 - Membership

ERP Membership is open to anyone, but access to the member server is restricted to only those officers above a certain rank. A public server may be set up so that the Administrators have a place to observe non-members and low-ranking officers in action, and determine if they are eligible for advancement in rank before giving them the precious member server password. If you roleplay well, you will advance in ERP. Please be aware that ranks do not have a set evaluation timeframe; asking admins to review you may actually lower your chances of advancing, so please do not ask us to review you.

Article 3 - Government

The government of ERP consists of multiple administrative bodies:

ERP Central Command:
ERP Central Command (ECC) functions similar to a nation’s highest court. They have the main task of reviewing if new rules and/or or regulations conflict with existing ERP rules, and most importantly; the ERP Charter, which could be described as the ERP Constitution. By standard, ECC will not interfere in the day-to-day operation of divisions, although it reserves the right to do so, under such regulations as ECC may prescribe.
Also, ERP Central Command governs items of concern for the Entire ERP group, including, but not limited to legal issues, public relations and long-term planning. ERP Central Command does not have any limits on the number of members it consists of. Membership of ECC is at current ECC members’ discretion.

Division Administrations:
These are groups consisting of any odd number of appointed officials whose task is to keep the division running smoothly. These members are appointed by ERP Central Command based on the recommendations of any existing Division Administrators. (Candidates must be put forward by the division administrators)

Division Councils:
These are groups of any odd number of elected officials whose task is to represent the membership of a division by bringing up suggestions and voting on them. These members are elected by the membership in a general election, which takes place after a set time-frame; usually several months.

Division councils and administrations may have names fitting the surrounding of their universe, for instance: “General’s Office”, “Federation Council”, “Regional Governors” and so on.

Without special dispensation, a division is required to have a Division Administration and a Division Council.

Proposals will come to effect after they have been passed by a majority vote by both the elected and appointed administrative bodies. Both Administration and Council must consist of an odd number of members, no fewer than 3, and no more than 13.

Votes regarding alliances or treaties are handled within ERP Central Command and require 2/3 majority vote to pass.

No secret organizations, sects or subdivisions may be created without knowledge and approval from ERP Central Command. Any member(s) involved in such an action will be subject to disciplinary action.

Article 4 - Server Administration

To help combat behavioural problems on the servers, the Division Administrators may appoint trustworthy people at their discretion to assist them with enforcing the server rules. These members may be designated as “Server Admins”.

No member of ERP is permitted to disrupt other RPG group servers regardless of what they are doing. In the event of other groups disrupting the ERP server, do not retaliate, but report this to a server administrator so they can deal with the situation. If there has been a report of ERP members disrupting other RPG servers, with evidence, they will be disciplined by the appropriate authority.

Article 5 - Rank and Behaviour

Promotions and demotions are based on a vote in both the Division Administration and Council. Good roleplayers will be put up for promotion, while, if the Division Administration feels that you are not performing to the expectation of that rank by your attitude and performance, you may be demoted and notified of your demotion. Members who have decided to quit or resign from ERP will not automatically get their rank back if they return. Retired members, however, can - in special circumstances – be allowed to retain rank. If you wish to start your ERP career again, the Division Administration (and Council, if applicable) may vote on the issue of returning rank. Members can ask to have an extended leave of absence, during which their rank will not be removed. Members which do not received a rank high enough to warrant access to the member server, may be removed from a division without question if they are inactive for a long period of time.

On the forums, Members and Non-Members who have broken the rules will be subject to disciplinary action by the admins, which may include an official warning. Any person ignoring the warnings, or anyone who has caused serious harm to this organization, will be kicked from ERP and banned from any or all forums. Usage of non-member facilities of ERP (for instance: public servers) will be evaluated by the designated administrative authority.

Once you are banned, and the reasons for your ban are clear, you are banned. You will not get a chance to get back into the server or forums - no sorry notes or any other methods of getting in. If you have family members who are registered on the forums as well, but one of you is banned, the other will be affected. If you cannot control family members, we have no choice but to ban the IP of that user. Please be careful about the actions of your siblings and yourself. ERP will not tolerate bad behaviour. Should there be any mistake made, and any ban imposed was not justified, ERP may remove the ban at its discretion.

Article 6 - Member Server Password

The member server passwords are quite possibly the most closely guarded secrets in ERP. The member server passwords can only be given out by the admin. If somebody asks you for the member server password, do NOT tell it to them. Anyone who gives out the member server password without authorization will face disciplinary action.

Article 7 - Respect for Others

Impersonation of other members, or infringement of member privacy is a serious offence and any offender will face disciplinary action. ERP is based on honesty and trust. Those who are dishonest and can't be trusted have no place in ERP.

In general, ERP members should treat each other, as well as non-members, with the respect they deserve, regardless of rank. Members of ERP are viewed as such by both their fellow members as well as non-members, and should exhibit appropriate behaviour.
